Pro gaming's latest media darling is Victor De Leon III, an 8-year-old Halo 2 savant who went pro at the age of six.

His father, Victor De Leon II, also a pro gamer, said Lil Poison, as he's known in-game, started playing when he was 4 years old.

"It was really natural to him, he picked it up really fast," he said. "He's really bright, so it was easy for him.

"I don't think he really sees the big picture about how good he is, how well known he is. He grew up into this."

Like other pro gamers, Lil Poison's reputation is won at international tournaments and league competitions, where he'll go head-to-head against as many as 500 other gamers in a battle for the top spot. They're all vying for a slice of cash purses that are routinely climbing into the six figures.
